The book Mille Mercis (A Thousand Thank You / Many thanks) brings together a thousand messages, post-it notes, posters, and other informal inscriptions compiled by Benoît Luisière during the COVID lockdowns of 2020-2021. All of these messages contain the word “Merci” (Thank you).
Benoît Luisière is an artist, collector, and photographer born in 1972. Trained as a documentalist, he appropriates anonymous and ordinary forms of photography and vernacular documents.
